Hey there, homies! My name is Megan Flynn, and I am super pumped to have a rad semester with the Guru Gang at CollegeFashionista! I am a junior at Savannah College of Art and Design otherwise known as SCAD, working toward my B.F.A in fashion design with a minor in fibers.
Fashion has always been at the very core of my being since I was a little girl. Completely cliched in every way, however, I honestly would not want it to be any different. The form of expression and accessibility it provides to the masses to help annunciate who they are makes my heart sing. I hope that this platform will help express my love of fashion and help spread the love. While eventually I would love my designs to spread my enthusiasm for making people feel like their best and truest forms of their self, I thought marrying my love of fashion with my love for writing would be the next best thing.
When it comes to personal aesthetics and tastes, I prefer to keep things on the minimal side with a splash of color, a.k.a. pink. Whether this be done with a moto jacket, white button up or black booties, the uniform is ever present. While I stay relatively comfortable in my black and white zone, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have my fair share of sass expressed not only by my ever expressive face, but my looks as well. As much as I stay current with trends, I am a firm believer of modifying those trends to suit your personal aesthetic. I feel a great amount of trends overwhelm us in this day of fast fashion, to the point where we lose ourselves in trying to become the next Instagram model. I hope in my time writing for CollegeFashionista that I help other people not only discover their personal style, but being completely comfortable with being their truest form of their self.
In other news, besides advocating for everyone being their true selves, I love to spend what little free time I have writing, reading, exploring my beautiful tiny town called Savannah, and having memorable moments with my friends!
