Greetings, fellow Fashionistas! My name is Meghan McGovern and I am one of the newest Style Gurus representing Babson College. I am so excited to bring you styles from the preppy streets of the New England suburbs, while also incorporating fashions seen on the trendy cobblestone walkways of Boston.
My fashion obsession started at a young age, starting with stick figure drawings donned in ball gowns to majoring in marketing and operations management in college with the hopes of becoming a buyer or planner for a fashion retailer. My younger self dreamed of being a fashion designer, but after taking a summer of sewing classes in middle school, which produced one sleeping bag and one mediocre sewer, those dreams were crushed. Granted my fashion tastes have changed over the years, transitioning from having a wardrobe consisting of every shade of pink to a closet filled with mostly all neutrals. Through all the career transitions and style changes, one thing always remained, a true love of fashion, which I hope to show you throughout the spring semester in my blog posts.
Considering I go to school in New England, warmth is an essential element when deciding what to wear each day around my college campus. I generally opt for a knitted turtleneck sweater because it is trendy, as well as comfortable for those cold winter class days. My all-time favorite pair of black jeans are these 7 For All Mankind jeans. Not only do they feel like leggings, they also can be casual enough for a class or dressed up for a night in Boston. To warm up most of my outfits, I accessorize with different blanket scarves since they are trendy and cozy. Lastly, I slip on a pair of low black leather booties to finish off my outfit.
