Hey there! My name is Mel Daoust, and I am very excited to say that this is my first semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista! All my life I have been incredibly interested in the fashion world. After going through a year of university and pursuing a French degree, I realized that was not what I truly wanted to be doing. Fashion was my one true passion. That being said, I am now entering my final semester in fashion marketing and management at Fanshawe College (London, Ontario, Canada).
Throughout my years I have tried so many different styles but never really found that one style that was perfectly fit for me. A year ago, I finally realized that not everyone fits into one specific category. Fashion is about having your own style and your own flare and putting twists on outfits and challenging the current trends. Realistically, you can find me looking like a total band groupie one day and a carefree boho chick the next. In this outfit, I opted for a cropped bell-sleeved top with lace detailing, dark wash high-waist jeans, and a pair of black over-the-knee boots. The possibilities are endless when it comes to a Fashionista’s/o’s closet!
On top of my love for fashion, I have a massive interest in everything social media. From Instagram, to Snapchat, to Pinterest, it is such an incredible way to find out the latest trends or, ya know, just see pictures of the cutest puppies ever! That being said, here are a few fun facts about me: Instagram will forever have my heart, my dog coming in with a close second, scarves/capes or a turtleneck are a must have in 99 percent of my outfits, you will NEVER catch me without at least six rings on my fingers, I will eat literally anything if there is cheese on it, and yoga plays a huge role in my lifestyle.
Lastly, I cannot wait for what this #RAD semester is going to bring!
