Hi fashion lovers! My name is Mia Belle McNeill, and I am currently a freshman at the University of Iowa majoring in global health studies along with pre-PA. I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the CollegeFashionista Style Guru internship so I can show everyone a little glimpse of fashion in the good ol’ Midwest without breaking the bank!
I’ve been a Midwestern girl my whole life, growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. My mother has always pushed me into being comfortable in expressing myself. Her Latin roots give her that strong personality, and along with that personality I’d say she’s pretty glam. I’m extremely close to her so I chose not to venture too far away from her and home. Therefore, I ended up going to a college that’s in the middle of a cornfield, as some would like to say.
I have a deep, deep obsession with all things ocean. The ocean is my life. And yes, I do believe in mermaids. Actually, I am a mermaid. You can always catch me someplace warm and tropical on vacation. My favorite island is St. Marteen in the Caribbean, and I 10/10 recommend going there if ever given the chance.
My style ranges from boho-chic to preppy to sporty cute (sports and I are a no go). Nine out of ten times you will catch me prevailing in outfits, my favorite color: white. White will forever be a staple in my wardrobe and I know it’s on a different spectrum to the famous black, but I believe both of these colors are so versatile. There are so many different shades of white to work with and so many looks can stem from this color. In today’s look, I’m wearing a cream faux fur poncho paired with leather baroque leggings and my leather over the knee boots. I chose to glam it up with with rose gold shades along with a cream and rose gold bracelet. This look is perfect for a warmer winter day and is very chic and comfortable!
