Being a teenage girl from the southside of Chicago has its perks for sure. Amazing pizza, thrift stores, music (shoutout to Chance The Rapper!) and of course, the street fashion. My name is Mia Rusch and I am just starting my freshman year at Illinois State University. I’m excited to see what this new school year will bring! When I’m not scrolling down famous fashion blogger’s Instagram pages, I love to listen to my bopping monthly playlists on Spotify, spend hours watching makeup tutorials and look-books on youtube, drink tea and obsess over Drake and Rihanna’s relationship.
When it comes to fashion, I am all about that ’80s/’90s look. Chokers, oversized vintage T-shirts and silky slip dresses are my jam. Rihanna, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid and Lily-Rose Depp are my biggest fashion inspirations. To me, comfort is everything! Basically, I like to dress like an ’80s John Hughes character.
I believe that one of the most challenging part of my life is keeping up with a decent Instagram feed. Since I spent most of my high school years pouring coffee at a local cafe and working at a salon, unfortunately, I can’t spend all my money on Becca Cosmetics highlighters or One Direction tickets anymore. Gotta love that college budget! I am the youngest of five girls so my life has basically been revolved around watching romantic comedies and America’s Next Top Model and quoting She’s The Man.
From flipping through magazines, getting tips from my sisters and friends, and scrolling down various social media accounts, I have found my love for fashion and beauty and I can’t wait to share my style and discover new ones. Individuality is shown through people’s fashion in today’s world, and it influences me and everyone around them that no matter what shape or size others can feel confident anything! I’m so thankful to be apart of CollegeFashionista and to see where my style takes me!
