Hey there, Fashionistas/os! I am super excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team this season. My name is Micaela, and I am a student at the beautiful University of California, San Diego. I’m currently majoring in Political Science and minoring in Business with a focus in Marketing and loving every moment of it.
Although I was born and raised in Northern California, I ventured out to sunny San Diego to spend some of the best years of my life in a totally new environment. When the weather permits it, you can find me relaxing on the beach or doing something outdoors. I also love to drink coffee, but only when it’s iced, and I love to make flower crowns. I like being able to creatively express myself, whether it is through writing, a DIY project or through my outfits.
I have always had a passion for fashion, and my style has continuously evolved throughout the years. As I have grown older, my style has changed and matured. I’ve been interested in fashion since the eighth grade, but at that time, I was into looking like someone who stepped right out of a rock concert. But since then, I’ve experimented with a variety of styles, ranging from grunge to preppy. Being able to see my fashion sense evolve with me has only further established my love for fashion.
I wouldn’t say that there is one type of style that defines my fashion sense. Since my style is always evolving, you can find me wearing a dress and knee-high socks one day and wearing a band shirt and skinny jeans the next. I am open to any trend, as long I feel beautiful and confident while I’m wearing it. Even if something isn’t necessarily “in style” at the moment, wear those clothes if they make you feel beautiful.
Currently, I am loving the bohemian trend, but I also love to mix edgier pieces in my outfits. I love layering necklaces and pairing them with blouses and my trademark black pants. I also love wearing kimonos, not just because they are stylish, but also because they are super comfortable. I’m always on the look out for new trends that I can incorporate into my outfits, and I am an avid reader of fashion blogs.
Remember, stay true to your own personal style! In the words of Coco Chanel, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
