Hello fashionistas! My name is Michelle Diaz and I am a senior at the Art Institute of Orange County California. This is my first time as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I’m very excited to have this opportunity to share and discover other fashionistas like myself.
My sense of fashion comes from inspiration that I gather from all over. I am very laid back and that can definitely be seen through my style. My appreciation for fashion started when I was younger because I didn’t have a lot of clothes and shoes growing up. I learned to appreciate the things that I did have and became a master at re-working the same pieces to create different looks.
Growing up, I was constantly traveling to Mexico and sometimes would spend summers out there with my grandma. It was really interesting for me to see what people were wearing because their fashion sense was really different than mine. I would go and share what was popular in the states and I would come home with inspiration from their trends.
This outfit was from my latest trip to the beautiful city of Guanajuato, Mexico. I ‘am wearing my comfy high-top Converse, black skinnies with the knee slits, and a beautiful embroidered top that I picked up from an artisan market in the city of Morelia. I needed to add a pop of color to my outfit and the top was the perfect match.
