Hi fashionistas, my name is Mikala Renda and I have just recently been hired as a Style Guru intern for the summer months. That is totally RAD, right? I just finished my freshman year at Columbia College Chicago and I am double majoring in fashion design and fashion business. Other than fashion, some of my interests include running, reading, photography, modeling, exploring, music and spending time with the people that I care about the most. One day, I hope to change the world through fashion. I want to use fashion as a way to help people and bring awareness to different causes like raising money for a charity or hosting charity fashion shows. Basically anything that involves helping other people but with fashion.
Fashion is a way of expressing yourself. As soon as I put on a good outfit, I feel confident and ready to function for the rest of the day. In describing my style, I do not think it fits into any one category. I wear many different styles of clothing. This is one reason why I picked the outfit I did. It is boho, but also edgy with the ripped black jeans. The lace shirt made the outfit boho and look more summery. The aviator sunglasses were also a nice accessory for the summer. The necklaces were a good accessory to add to the outfit to make it more interesting without distracting from the look. Layered necklaces are always a good addition to any outfit. The taupe colored sandal is a favorite of mine for the season. They are very stylish as well as comfortable. The heel on them gives a little height without making the outfit look too dressy.
I’m super excited for this internship and all the opportunities it brings. I cannot wait to provide all the college students out there reading my articles some great knowledge on fashion, one of the greatest topics out there.
