Hello everyone! My name is Mikayla and I am a sophomore at New York University, studying Finance and Marketing. It’s my second semester with CollegeFashionista, and I’m enjoying this amazing opportunity! I have loved reading articles on the site as well as becoming friends with some of the other Style Gurus.
This semester begins the beginning of the school year and that means fall fashion! My favorite things about fall are being able to wear oversized knit sweaters, drinking a warm cup of apple hibiscus tea and, of course, New York Fashion Week. I love to see all the street style of the celebrities and models as they are going from show to show as well as just enjoying the hustle of the city in the autumn season.
In regards to my personal style, you can always find me in at least one article of tribal style clothing. Since it’s still pretty warm outside, I’m going to be wearing my gladiator and chunky necklace combination up until it gets colder. Although I like to be warm and comfortable in the fall, I like to make my sweaters a bit more edgy with unique detailing. For example, I have a deep red shredded knit sweater that I will wear with collared shirts underneath and a sharp leather biker jacket.
One thing that is distinct about my style compared to some of the other millions of edgy New Yorkers is my sock collection. I have a passion for finding socks that are funky and warm. You may not be able to see them all the time, depending on the temperature, but they will always be bold and fun!
I love being a part of CollegeFashionista and seeing some of the other unique style vibes of the college student community. I am super excited to see what this semester will bring/
