Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Mindy Myung and I will be entering my third year at University of California, Riverside as a Psychology major. I am beyond excited to be working with CollegeFashionista this fall as a Style Guru!
Whenever people asked me what my dream job was, my answer was always the same ever since elementary school, “a fashion designer.” People around me always asked me to do their hair and makeup for their special occasions. Though I’m not a professional hair and/or makeup artist, I often ended up playing the role of a stylist for their special day, such as prom or even my sister’s wedding. Even though I loved the idea of pursuing a career in what I was truly passionate for, I always doubted myself. I wasn’t sure if my dream to have a professional job in the beauty/fashion industry was achievable or even realistic. However, the more I was exposed to fashion and beauty, I was only more reassured about my love for them.
It’s hard to describe my personal style in a single word because I honestly dress freely based on my feelings and emotions each day. When I go to campus, I like to dress casually, especially if I know I have a long day ahead of classes. This is why I like to take advantage of my weekends to dress up. My weekends are usually spent hanging out with my family, friends or boyfriend. However, whether I dress up or down, I put together outfits that will not only keep me comfortable but also confident throughout the day!
I cannot wait to share not only my own style, but also give tips and share how the people at my campus express themselves through their outfits. Keep an eye out for my posts on the 1st of every month!
