Hey all you Fashionista/os! My name is Molly Hovden and I am so THRILLED to start my journey as a Style Guru! I am currently a freshman at the University of Iowa pursuing a degree in journalism/mass communications and I absolutely LOVE all things writing and fashion. What better way to combine them than through CollegeFashionista?
I would describe my personal style as first and foremost: COMFORTABLE. Whoever said pain is beauty clearly didn’t understand the beauty of a cozy pair of riding boots, leggings and an oversized shirt. I’m a firm believer that you can look still look chic without sacrificing your comfort. In my closet, I have a a mixture of casual, laid-back, feminine and preppy pieces. I also LOVE layering—whether it’s scarves, jewelry or a cute jacket, layering adds dimension to any outfit.
The look I’m sporting in my Style Guru Bio is one of my FAVORITE holiday outfits. Even though it’s all neutrals, it packs a huge punch. Not only will you feel fierce in some black riding boots and a killer (faux) fur vest, but you’ll stay warm too! I paired my boots with long cream socks (for extra comfort), black leggings and an oversized, silky, button-down dress shirt (10/10 would recommend, SO comfy). And to add a little shape, I threw on a nude belt. My favorite article of clothing, the gray knit, faux fur vest, I added for a touch of warmth and chicness. It gives this sleek look a little bit more texture! I’m also wearing my everyday silver jewelry—an Irish Celtic ring, my Alpha Chi Omega necklace and a couple of bracelets, one of which is a Love This Life “Journey” charm bangle bracelet.
