Hi everyone! My name is Molly Nicholas and I’m a junior at Miami University. I’m a journalism major with a double minor in marketing and fashion design. I can’t wait for this semester as an intern with CollegeFashionista incorporating all the great fall trends to come in my articles!
My style coincides with my plans for the day, as well as how I feel while I’m getting ready. Boho is one of my favorite trends right now, but I would never limit my style to just one category of dress. I take pride in the fact that my closet is color-coordinated, but that’s not exactly hard when I mainly wear neutral tones. I gravitate towards neutrals when shopping and believe that you can never have too many black articles of clothing. I’ve also never been one to shop for entire outfits. I buy pieces I love individually and then find many ways to style them. Makeup is another one of my passions because I think it can take you outfit to another level. A bold lip or a cool hairstyle just adds that personal touch.
Fall is one of my favorite seasons, so I can’t wait to take photos of Fashionistas/os on Miami’s beautiful campus while the leaves are changing. One thing I’m excited for during the fall semester is that it allows for layering with the cold temperatures. I think this allows everyone to show off their personal style because there are more options and combinations. I’ve also never met a pair of booties or a cozy sweater I didn’t like.
One of my goals for this semester on CollegeFashionista is to experiment with the trends approaching us this fall, especially suede. This means: over-the-knee suede boots, suede crop tops and even suede skirts. The fabric is just so comfortable and versatile that it will be so fun to style.
For my look, I tried to show off my personal style with a boho take on transitioning from summer into fall. Bell sleeves are one of the trends coming up for fall, so I found a blouse in a lightweight material and neutral shade. I paired this with some classic black denim, faux suede lace-up heels and a choker. For warm days that turn into chilly evenings, this outfit is great for taking your look from day to night.
