Hey, everybody!
It’s me again! I’m so excited to be back here as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. For those of you who don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Monica San Luis and I am from the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawai’i. I currently reside in Boston where I am now a sophomore at Boston University. My current obsessions consist of but aren’t limited to cool denim, white manicures, everything gold, statement sneakers, Ray-Bans, funky jackets, and Italian food.
My favorite time of the day is the morning when I get to pick out my outfit. My all-time motto is “look good, feel good.” If I leave the house in a killer outfit, I know my day will start off great. For as long as I can remember, my outfits always determined my attitudes.
I grew up in the Philippines and since then have been able to live in and travel to a copious amount of different places. In doing so, I seized the opportunity to explore different fashion cultures and styles. Having the chance to explore the world is largely what I attribute my fashion sense to.
The key element of my classy and refined fashion sense is statement pieces. Whether it be a mesh hoodie or sneakers with fur on top, I feel a statement piece is crucial in any stunning outfit. I always tell myself, “people won’t notice your clothes unless there’s something to notice. Be bold!”
Currently, you would be able to find me shopping in Zara or online at Boohoo. However, in the event of being lazy and not wanting to shuffle through a plethora of different clothing, I enjoy shopping in random boutiques. Boutiques often carry items that are not super popular. We all know being different is better than being basic.
I am an avid photographer and I love to get creative. I am constantly updating my Instagram with my new favorite outfits, yummy restaurants, and aesthetic visions.
In this look, I am wearing the Jessie Top from Brandy Melville, two-toned high-waisted jeans and Steve Madden sneakers. In terms of accessories, I’m wearing Ray-Bans round glasses, a genuine leather belt from Italy, and a vintage Coach handbag.
Talk to you soon, Fashionistas!
