Hello there Fashionistas/os! My name is Monica Singh and this is my first article for CollegeFashionista! I am a senior at Old Dominion University. I am finishing up my bachelor’s degree in business management and graduating in May. I have always had a love for expressing myself through writing and fashion, so I am very excited to be bringing two of my favorite things together this summer as a new Style Guru!
Starting in high school my passions of the business and marketing side of life grew, and so did my eye for fashion. No matter if I am at work, in classes or out with friends, I am always dressed to showcase my personality and leave a positive impression. I learned to incorporate more of a fun and chic business casual style to a college student’s lifestyle. Through trial and error, I have finally figured out how to bring together the best of two worlds!
My fashion sense for the most part can be summed up as classic, smart, chic and business casual. I always strive to look put together and try to incorporate all the pieces of my outfit so that my look is cohesive and not too busy. My signature day-to-day style includes a fun blouse or top, a structured outerwear piece and a pair of dark wash denim jeans which I always wear. Very few things make me swoon the way a great, fun blazer does! There is just something so chic, effortless and empowering about a comfortable blazer with a pair of fitted jeans!
