Hello again, Fashionistas! For those of you who don’t already know me, my name is Montana and I am currently a sophomore at Kent State University. This semester is going to be my fifth one writing for CollegeFashionista and I can’t wait to get started. To start off, here is a little bit about me. I grew up living in a town about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but when it came time for me to go to college, I chose to venture outside of my home state. This is why I chose to further my studies in Ohio to pursue my fashion merchandising major, with two minors in photo illustration and fashion media.
My home is about two hours from the heart of Manhattan, so ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always dreamed of living there. After I am finished studying at Kent State, I hope to move into the Big Apple to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Not only do I have a passion for fashion, but photography has always been a love of mine. When I was younger, I always used to snatch my mom’s camera to take pictures of whatever I could find throughout the house. That’s when I knew I loved photography and I needed to continue with my passion. During high school, I spent the majority of my time in the school’s dark room, developing all of my photographs the old fashioned way. In the future, once I become settled in New York, I hope to open up my own studio one day so that I can pursue all of my dreams.
Along with photography, I also always knew that fashion was very important to me. Growing up, I always hated it when my mom wouldn’t let me pick out my own clothes. When I finally reached the age where I could shop on my own, I realized how cool fashion could be. I was finally able to break through my shell and express myself to show everyone who I really was. Ever since this moment, I have constantly been able to express myself through each and every outfit I own and it has helped me to become the person I am today.
Specifically speaking, I had so much fun putting this outfit together for the holiday season. I got to try out some new pieces I received over the holidays. I found this awesome flannel vest with fur trim at a small boutique near home which I simply paired it with my favorite winter time knee high boots. To add little bit of flare to the look, I grabbed by favorite choker and gave my hair this funky new hairstyle that I am obsessed with.
I’m stoked for you guys to see what else I have in store this semester. Stay tuned to see what my next fashion tips will be!
