Greetings Fashionistas! My name is Morgan Borer and I’m a junior at Ohio University studying Strategic Communications in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with specializations in Marketing and Retail Merchandising and Fashion Product Development. On campus, I serve as the Public Relations Chief of Thread Magazine, OU’s student-run, online fashion publication. I am also an account executive with ImPRessions (ouimpressions.com), a Learning Community Leader for first-year students and an active member of Scripps PRSSA and Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
My first love, before Beanie Babies or Barbie dream girl houses, was fashion. I have fond memories of raiding my grandmother’s closet, prancing around in her oversized high heels and clutching her vintage wallets. Flash-forward about 15 years, and I have a unique style of my own. I am a bit of a shopaholic, but when my wallet won’t allow it, I simply observe. I love watching trends and styles change over the years. That’s what keeps fashion interesting.
At Ohio U, I have found my passion in journalism and public relations. I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of the most ambitious, hard working students I know in Scripps. I’ve also met some unforgettable professors and advisors. Athens is truly a special place, and the small, Appalachian town will always have a piece of my heart wherever I go. The red-orange bricks are grassy hills are home.
I would like to think that reading, writing and stalking celebrity Instagram accounts are my pastimes. I have a love-hate relationship with exercise. Iced coffee makes me feel like I can conquer the world (who am I kidding, only Beyoncé can do that). And I believe that above all, a great attitude makes a great life.
