Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Morgan Kolakowski, and I am a sophomore at Temple University. I am majoring in journalism with a focus in broadcast journalism. This is my second semester as a Style Guru and I couldn’t be happier to return! Last semester I was the head Style Guru here, and it was so much fun meeting and socializing with fellow Gurus.
Since I was a young girl I have loved everything about fashion. My mom used to tell me that I would cry when she picked out my outfits because I wanted to pick out my own. Today, I love nothing more than going shopping or styling outfits for exciting events. I have been a model for six years now and I enjoy being able to put on different styles and trying out new trends.
I have to admit my go-to outfit is an oversized sweater and leggings, but with the new year here I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear new things. In the photos I’m wearing a pair of jeans with a comfy cream sweater paired with a scarf. Scarves are the perfect last touch to any winter outfit and help add a bit more style to a plain outfit. For shoes, I’m usually always caught in a small heel because I feel much more confident. I love a combat boot with a boost to help me strut along without killing my feet in an uncomfortable heel. Being in the city I’m constantly walking, so comfort is a must no matter what.
I have many goals for this coming semester, and I plan to go about them in a positive attitude only. Life is too short to be negative so my motto is simply to, “Be happy.” I hope all of you enjoy this coming year and embrace the fashion trends that are ahead of us. Create your own type of fashion and rock it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you look silly, instead laugh in their face and a strut away with the confidence that every Fashionista/o should have!
