Hey guys! My name is Morgan, and I’m extremely excited to be a Style Guru this summer! In August, I will be entering my second year as a Fashion Merchandising Management major (aka FMM) at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Fashion and photography have always been two huge interests of mine, so I’m thrilled that I get to combine the two through this creative outlet. Considering that my first word was “shoes,” I’m pretty sure that a career in the fashion industry was my destiny from day one.
Living in NYC this past year has really expanded my horizons to the world of fashion. In the city, there are so many inspirational people and places surrounding you. There’s so much diversity in people’s styles. As a freshman, I’ve had tremendous opportunities. I volunteered at Fashion Week, worked in retail as part of the staff to open the US-based flagship store of a UK-based apparel store and landed three internships (one at a startup fashion app, one in PR at an established high end fashion house and this one!). I even got to be in a commercial! The possibilities in New York City are endless, and if you work hard enough your dreams can really come true. I’m honored to be able to take all of the amazing, inspiring outfits that I’ve seen here and share them with my readers.
I would describe my personal style as boho chic, although it definitely changes everyday. I love getting super dressed up and feeling feminine and gorgeous, but at the same time I will drool over flowy bohemian dresses like the one in my outfit above. Â IÂ could even go the complete opposite direction with more grungy pieces. My hometown is only about two hours away from New York, but people still dress very differently. I love playing off of this and seeing how I can pull pieces from my wardrobe to create outfits that work for wherever I am. It gives me an excuse to have fun with my clothes and to add even more outfits to my wardrobe. Since my style is not confined to one look, I like to pull pieces from all over for my outfits, and I get inspired by a variety of people, places and things. I look forward to showing my readers a variety of different styles in my posts and reporting on all of the latest trends the second they come to my attention.
I hope you all enjoy your carefree summers and that I can help to keep you stylish and entertained every week with my posts! Be sure to read my posts every Friday to kick your weekend off to a great start. Let’s have an amazing, stylish summer!
