It is two o’clock on a hazy afternoon, and I am strolling through the city sidewalks. Silhouettes scramble past me as I try to catch glimpses of any textures or colors that exist amongst them. The city’s landscape of people makes it easy to believe that I, too, can make statements about who I am and what I stand for. Even past the polka-dots and peplum, the fashion of the city compels me to define the leader within, step outside of my comfort zone and communicate my ideas with the rest of the world.
As a small town girl in the big city, these past few months have allowed my thoughts to develop of what fashion means in regards to being a leader. I’ve found that the best way to ignite your personality, is through personal style. Fashion is about compromise. It’s about give and take and finding what works for you. As a business student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I’m passionate about being yourself and doing whatever it takes to show the world what you’ve got to offer! With new fashion, comes new challenges, and art to create. I am so excited to be able to let you get a peek into my world as an avid lover of fashion and life.
My personal style can be described as vintage, classic, and ever-changing. I have always felt as if I was an old soul. Dressing more feminine than most of my friends, I have always chosen the “tea-length skirt and heels” over the “jeans and a T-shirt” look. Lipstick is honestly my staple item and what I believe is the quickest way to success! With that in mind, I’m still always willing to experiment with new styles, working to incorporate them with my current wardrobe.
I truly hope that I am not only able to grow as a Style Guru through this blogging experience, but to learn new skills to make my own personal blog even better than ever before.
