Hey everyone! My name is Morgen Schroen, and I am a fourth-year student at San Francisco State University where I am majoring in journalism and minoring in labor and employment studies. As mentioned in my first Style Guru Bio, I intend to receive a professional designation degree in merchandise marketing at the San Diego campus of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising upon graduating from SFSU this coming spring.
My exposure to the fashion industry continues to grow every day. This fall semester, I worked alongside the social media manager of CAMP Collection and The 2 Bandits and produced content for the blogs of both brands, in addition to helping with upkeep of the social media pages of both brands. This semester, I am fortunate to be able to deliver content once again through CollegeFashionista and am excited for what is to come!
Now that it is officially winter, I look forward to sporting and highlighting the cozy winter trends over the next few months. Winter isn’t a much different experience for those of us who are fortunate to live on the always-sunny West Coast, but it is typically full of cozy layered pieces and dark hues. I will be on the lookout for chunky turtlenecks, statement-making faux fur coats, velvet and metallics for the duration of the season. I will also highlight ways to transition a winter wardrobe to a spring wardrobe, as well as highlight the coming spring trends that run parallel with music festival season. Of course, I will seek out those Fashionistas/os who rock these trends and share my love for fashion so I can share with all of you.
My outfit pictured in this post is a go-to of mine for a chilly day. Opting for a minimal color scheme, I am wearing a striped blanket scarf from Forever 21, an olive-colored jacket from Urban Outfitters, a lace-up layering top and high-waisted skinny jeans from Free People, Madewell socks and chunky heeled booties by Steve Madden.
