Hello my fella Fashionistas! My name is Mukiyanna Kamara and I am from Sacramento California. I am so thrilled to be apart of the CollegeFashionista team this year. I am currently attending Manhattan College in hoping to graduate with a Finance/Fashion Design Major.
It’s a new life, It’s a new time, It’s a new place. Walking onto this campus for the first time I automatically knew it was the perfect place for me to start my career and the perfect place for me to walk out when I have accomplished all that I have worked for.
But walking onto the campus was one of the hardest things that I have had to do. Coming from a small community in California I knew almost everyone or well at least seen the same faces whenever I went out and about. Coming to New York you see new faces everyday, new headlines and don’t forget the constant change of weather.
But one thing that has always stood out to me the most was the fashion aspect of New York. It was way different from my small neighborhood in California. Fashion is the air the breathe in. The way they carry themselves. Being able to meet more people than I was able to over here that is interested in the same things as me is life changing. I love it to much and I hope to one day make a huge impact in the fashion world starting right here.
I hope that I will be able to inspire everyone who comes along to check out CollegeFashionista. Never give up on your dream because at the end it might turn into reality.
