Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! I’m Natalie and I’m currently studying English with a concentration in Creative Writing at Michigan State University. Although I’ve chosen to formally pursue my art in the literary form, I’ve always had a flair for aesthetics and a yearning for fashion. I grew up binge watching America’s Next Top Model and practicing my angles and outfits in the mirror at night. I’m quite excited for this opportunity to share my fashion ideas with you all!
My favorite place to be is the middle of nowhere. I feel a yearning swerving along rivers and cresting hills, a stirring that the concrete and glass of the city don’t budge. As a native Michigander, practicality and dressing for the weather are some things I consider of utmost importance when choosing an outfit. My BOGS waterproof boots are my favorite footwear because of their versatility through the seasons and the neutral cinnamon color.
Among my friends, I’m frequently told that I’m the only possible person that could “pull it off,” whether it be a short hairstyle, a daring crop top, print leggings or massive sunglasses. I believe that individuals ought to celebrate themselves and feel confident in who they are. I love tattoos, piercings, unconventionality, risks and originality.
I like to think of my personal aesthetic as a convergence: between rural and urban, masculine and feminine, casual and elegant and cozy and fierce. I’m very inspired by androgyny, classic shapes and textures. A few of my favorite summer staples are American Eagle Outfitters hi-rise shorts, neutral-toned Oxfords and hats.
Through this opportunity with CollegeFashionista, I only hope to grow in my abilities to inspire and enhance future fashion choices! Let this summer be one of fierceness, confidence and growth!
