Hi everyone! My name is Natasha Colvin and I have just completed my freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I hope to major in Journalism. This is my first ever semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I’m so excited! I would consider myself an all-around fashion, fitness and beauty enthusiast. I love to write, and I spend lots of my free time doing so through my blog, Onederlust, where I actively express my thoughts and inspirations.
I was raised in a small town just outside of New York City and have grown up as a British-American dual citizen, taking frequent trips back to visit my extended family in England. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to many exotic places like Africa, Vietnam, Argentina, Europe and the Caribbean. I feel this has shaped my values as a person and my personal style immensely, as well as strengthened my aesthetic for the art of fashion and expressing one’s self. As a college student, much of my inspiration comes from my peers around the city of Madison, as well as the varying street styles from the multitude of cultures I experience through my travels.
Fashion is a huge part of my life, and hopefully it will continue to be throughout the undetermined career ahead of me. I feel it is extremely important to create your own personal expression while individualizing yourself from those around you. That being said, I love to don the latest trends, but instead of adapting to them, I try to exhibit my own interpretations.
I have an extremely exciting summer ahead, with lots of traveling, internships at Cosmopolitan UK and KCD Worldwide, along with being a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista. In the coming months I look forward to sharing my inspirations and appreciation for fashion through my lens. Check back to this page every Wednesday to learn more about my cultural adventures and style influences.
