Hello my name is Nicole Ziemba, but I also go by Nicki. I am currently in the homestretch of finishing up my degree in fashion and retail studies at The Ohio State University. I am also, as of recently, a stylist at Free People here in Columbus, OH.
I’ve lived in Columbus for most of my life since before kindergarten, when I wore stretchy pants under my jeans because I thought they were “itchy.” Somewhere there are photos of me stark naked outside at home during a BBQ because I just couldn’t stand the feeling of clothes. My mom had to bribe me to put on a bathing suit just so she could go to the grocery store. I have come a long way since then though and have developed a love for clothes and can’t get enough of them—my credit card statement can prove it.
I would describe my style as Rihanna meets Hello Kitty meets Jimi Hendrix because my personal style is constantly changing and adapting. I am not afraid to try new trends and love to keep it interesting. Whenever I go out, the last thing I want to do is blend in. Fashion is my number one outlet to express myself, so when I am out somewhere wearing something you would see in a Rihanna music video, I get a few looks. As a blossoming Fashionista, over the years I have learned to wear whatever I want, whenever I want and that is what truly makes me happy.
My outfit today is stemming from my bohemian side. This two-piece set from Free People is easy, breezy and comfortable. I wore it with my favorite Sam Edelman black booties to add an edge and added a few pieces of small silver jewelry for a little extra something.
I am looking forward to a fabulous semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
