Hey everyone! I’m Nicolina DiVerde and I’m a freshman majoring in Biology at SUNY Geneseo. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited!
Ever since I was little I always loved fashion and science combined. This included asking for a microscope for Christmas when I was 10 years old. As well as adding my personal touches to my outfits in Elementary School by sewing on bows to my sweater or hemming my own jeans to make Capris during the spring season. When I was younger, I always found myself trying to keep up with the latest trends. Whether this included watching endless episodes of Project Runway, or spending countless hours on the weekend putting my weekly outfits together and then modeling them for my mom. I always wanted to look my best at all times. My love for fashion has always been there.
Currently my personal style is a mix of preppy, classic, simple and feminine. You will probably see me wearing ballet flats at all times of the year because I love them so much. You can never go wrong with the classic button-down with a cable knit sweater layered over, boat neck T-shirts, a quilted puffer vest, pearls or a statement necklace. I’m a self-proclaimed lover of kate spade new york, Tory Burch and, of course, Lilly Pulitzer. I’m also obsessed with my dog and addicted to coffee and tea. When I’m not studying I constantly find myself online shopping, pinning everything on Pinterest and looking at my favorite blogs like SummerWind, TheCollegePrepster and ClassyGirlsWearPearls.
This semester I’m absolutely thrilled to be a Style Guru. I hope you enjoy my articles and style advice. Look out for them every Wednesday!
