Hey friends! I’m Norah Murphy, a sophomore studying at Parsons the New School for Design and a spring 2016 Style Guru. I’m studying design and management, which is a really amazing major that allows me to follow the path I would most want to take, a path that lead me to my minor of fashion communication.
Throughout my two years at Parsons I’ve been able to develop and pinpoint my exact style, which I would describe as minimal and chic. I can always be found wearing denim, black and white, which is where the title of my blog, denimnwhite.com, comes into play. Occasionally I’ll be sporting grays or beiges (when I’m feeling risky) just to add a little bit of something extra to my look.
I guess you could say I was getting feisty with this outfit, which consists of a gray chunky sweater layered over a menswear-inspired shirt-dress and partnered with my favorite booties. Of course, I can’t leave the house without my wallet and a pair of killer sunglasses. This looks represents the quintessential outfit for me during the cooler months and is seriously so easy to achieve (layering is everything, trust me on that one).
I’m stuck in the middle of a love triangle between fashion, beauty and social media; all three of these things are what I am truly passionate about. I express those passions through my blog and my YouTube channel that I share with my best friend, called the Carly and Norah Show. You can find anything from lookbooks to Pinterest DIYs (and DIY fails) to hilarious and outrageously embarrassing stories, so feel free to feed into my shameless self promotion and check those out. On top of that, I’m a Social Media and Content Intern at Birchbox, which is basically a dream come true. I guess it’s safe to say that I really like to keep busy. If I’m not working, you can find me hanging out with my best friends or my family—they’ve all played such a crucial role in shaping who I am today and I love them all from the bottom of my heart. I also babysit a little bit too much, but hanging out with little kids who think I’m cool honestly isn’t the worst thing in the world.
