Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! I’m Nyasia, or Ny for short, and I am super excited to be joining the team for the first time this semester! I am a born and raised Brooklyn girl and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I currently attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. There, I major in advertising and marketing communications. FIT is overflowing with people who have amazingly unique style. This semester, I hope to show you all why we’re so awesome!
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been passionate about fashion and beauty. When I was about six, my mother bought me an all-leopard print turtleneck and pants set; it was all I ever wanted to wear. I owe my love of prints to her, especially leopard prints. I believe that fashion and beauty are all about self expression, confidence and creativity. I also feel what a person wears speaks volumes about who they are. I have a serious shopping addiction and I am a total product junkie. That being said, going to school in the fashion district very close to Herald Square is a blessing and a curse. I tend to wander into H&M or Forever 21 on my breaks for quick little finds. I also enjoy a great thrift store find. I get a rush when I see a great piece for seven dollars. Addicted, I’m telling you, I know. I can’t really define my style with a specific term; it’s inspired by whatever makes me feel bold and beautiful.
Most days, I can be found in the first floor lounge of the A-building people watching. It’s one of my favorite pass times, it’s where i get some of my inspiration from with my own style too. Of course I put my spin on the style but I love seeing how people put themselves together. I am a big foodie; I love exploring the city for great restaurants. My other passions are mostly creatively driven. I really enjoy photography, doing makeup and the last one may sound crazy but I love organizing closets. Oh, and musicals give me life!
You can recreate my look with a bomber, choker and booties. Can’t wait to get started! It’s going to be an awesome semester!
