STYLE GURU BIO: Olivia Bennett

Style has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I would never let anyone dress me growing up and that same mentality still carries on in my life now. I was a wild child. My favorite pattern combination was every possible print imaginable when it came to an outfit: polka-dots, stripes and florals, Oh my! I had the most fun with my wardrobe then and my life now revolves around fashion and my own unique choices when it comes to an outfit.

Being born in Chicago, growing up in Los Angeles and now living back in Chicago, my style has evolved and is always forever changing. But always an outfit-essential for me are my vintage clothing and jewelry from my grandma. I’ve never seen a better Navajo turquoise jewelry collection ever! My grandma was quite the Fashionista herself, which she passed down to me. Now being back in the Windy City and studying fashion business at Columbia College the opportunities are endless.

My job working in a high-end retail boutique at Steven Alan has also shaped my style choices. Being able to do visual merchandising for the store and styling customers has helped my style confidence grow immensely.

Now that you know a little about my background, here are a few of my favorite things: My favorite book is White Oleander and my favorite color is yellow, (for no particular reason, I definitely never wear yellow). My favorite designer is Isabel Marant (check out the dress I am wearing) while my favorite makeup look is Winged eyeliner (I don’t leave the house without it!).  My favorite artist would be Salvador Dali and my favorite stones are Amethyst (my birthstone) and turquoise.
