Hello there!
I can’t believe that I am writing my sixth Style Guru bio! It has been such a pleasure to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team here at the University of Missouri. This semester, however, things will be looking a little different. I will be studying abroad in Alicante, Spain, a town along the southeastern coast of Spain. My classes officially begin on January 12th, so I can’t wait to get started absorbing everything about the Spanish lifestyle and culture.
While I will be busy studying economics, marketing and finance for my classes at the Universidad de Alicante, I will be studying the local European fashion in my free time. With one of my favorite stores, Zara, right around the corner from where I’ll be living and the fact I’ll be right on the beach, I can already tell that it will be a fabulous semester.
In my spare time, when I’m not working on classwork, I write on my fashion blog, A Drop in the Ocean, practice photography and work on improving my cooking skills. Another thing I’m constantly working on is my “30 Before 30” list with goals for myself such as “Ride a camel,” “Visit All Seven Continents” and “Get a Pilot’s License.”
My fashion style usually is inspired by things in the style of Free People or Madewell, which are my two favorite stores. Regardless, I have a thing for a good pair of denim, a buttoned plaid shirt and a cute pair of booties. The basic staples can end up being the perfect little details to an outfit, I’ve found. As I study abroad, I will be packing a capsule wardrobe to wear in Spain, so that while I won’t be packing a large amount of clothing, I’ll be able to perfectly mix and match my clothes for countless outfit options.
