Hello Earthlings and fellow lovers of fashion—I’m Olivia Clark! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I couldn’t be more excited.
I’m currently a freshman at Pace University studying Communications. With this degree, I plan to pursue a career in journalism, specifically in music or pop culture.
Aside from fashion, my biggest passions are music and food. I sing, play guitar and listen to music constantly; I’m honestly obsessed. My favorite artists include Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons and Adele. I love discovering new music and learning the history behind old songs.
I also love cooking and, I’m gonna say it, I’m vegan. Yes, groan away. I know veganism annoys a lot of people, but it shouldn’t. Vegans, like me, are just people who love good food, animals and the environment. I run my blog, The New York Vegan, where I post recipes and food pictures of my creations and experiences eating out in NYC.
Speaking of NYC, I absolutely adore living here. It’s awesome to meet all kinds of people and see super cool outfits. I love when people express themselves through fashion. While I admit that sometimes I just stay in my pajamas all day (and am completely fine with it), I do love getting dressed up and picking out outfits. If I had to describe my style, I’d say it’s a mix of ’90s and boho. I’m not really into high fashion labels; I love just shopping at Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville and Forever 21.
Some of my wardrobe essentials are as follows: a killer vegan leather jacket, cool sunglasses, unique rings and fun sneakers. These items are basically necessities regardless of your sense of style. I’m also currently loving turtlenecks; they channel the ’90s and are great for layering.
Well, there’s my first post. If you liked what you read, hit me up with a like because that’d be #RAD and check back each month for more!
