Hello fellow fashion fans! My name is Paige Hardman, and I am a junior studying Management Consulting at the University of Notre Dame. This is my third semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Writing for CollegeFashionista during my sophomore year prodded me to go out of my way to talk to strangers and people I would not normally encounter in my day-to-day class schedule. It was a really great way to meet people who had similar interests, some of whom I am still friends with!
My interest in fashion has always been present, but it wasn’t until about a year and a half ago that I began to consider it as a possible career path. Now, it is the only one I ever want to pursue. Since CollegeFashionista has cemented my love of all things fashion, I decided to register for an online fashion certificate program with Parsons and Teen Vogue that will start later this fall!
Pinpointing and describing my own style can be a bit difficult. I enjoy following trends and getting inspiration from magazine spreads, but there are a few underlying consistencies in how I like to dress. Rarely will you find me not wearing at least one element of my outfit in black. If you have ever seen the internet meme that states “I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color,” you will gain a pretty good understanding of my style preferences.
Besides black, I do like wearing floral patterns and other dark colors like maroon, gray and olive green. Just the other day I purchased my first red dress—like, really red—and safe to say, it was a monumental day. But, it’s always good to step out of the comfort zone and embrace something different. Here’s to a great semester of fashion risk-taking!
