Hi there! My name is Paris Harper and I am currently living in East Lansing and attending Michigan State University. Go Green! I will be entering my junior year this fall as an Apparel and Textile Design major with a minor in Arts and Cultural Management, and I could not be more thrilled to be joining the CollegeFashionista community this semester as a Style Guru! Fashion, along with coffee, musicals and New York City, is one of the great loves of my life, so I cannot wait to begin sharing style tips and showing off some of the amazing street style I see on campus every day!
As a Fashionista trying to find a balance between dressing down for class while staying true to my love for dressing up, I describe my style as “preppy-glamour with just a touch of edge.” I live for statement pieces and adore anything high-waisted, and I truly believe that the perfect pair of heels can make an entire outfit. I am always up for experimenting with new trends and mixing them together!
This summer, I lived in New York City and interned for Marie Claire magazine—a dream come true! Every time I walked into the office I was amazed by the impeccable ensembles of almost everyone I encountered on a daily basis. By working at a fashion magazine and spending the summer exploring the streets of one of the most fashion-forward cities in the world, I was constantly inspired by the way New York women carried themselves: with style, grace and confidence—which I believe is the most important factor in a great outfit.
