STYLE GURU BIO: Paula Volos

So, it’s currently 4:10 in the morning and I’m sitting on my couch writing this and trying to process how I’m currently coming up with my fifth CollegeFashionista STYLE GURU BIO. Wow, I guess time really does fly after all.

If it just so happens that you’re stumbling across this page for the first time, allow me to say hi and introduce myself. If you’ve happened to read any of my previous biographies and are now—for whatever reason—voluntarily going through this one, then hey, what’s up, hello again, I’m glad you’re back here.

Let’s start with the basics. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Paula Volos and I’m currently a junior at CUNY Queens College, where I’m double majoring in Media Studies and English, with plans on pursuing a career in the fashion industry (so, very unpredictable). My hobbies include: stuffing my face with pizza and donuts, drinking Iced Macchiatos, being annoying on Instagram and Snapchat, buying shoes, hiding behind my oversized black cat-eye Dior sunglasses, obsessing over leather and fur and constantly applying lipstick. I’m in a serious long-term relationship with Manhattan that will probably never end (#RelationshipGoals) and if you ever happen to wonder about my whereabouts, the safest bet would be that I’m probably taking long, aimless walks around the city and exploring every little thing it has to offer me.

One of my favorite human beings, the one and only Marc Jacobs, once said “Let’s do what we love and do a lot of it.” Now to say that I don’t live by this quote would be completely untrue. What I love is fashion and I dedicate as much time as I possibly can to it. Fashion makes me happy, brings me a sense of serenity and has the ability to boost my confidence and make me a completely different person—there’s nothing like that feeling you get when you know you’re wearing a killer outfit, right? To me, fashion is the way you live your life. It’s the way you carry yourself, the way you express yourself, the way you behave and the way you make yourself stand out from a crowd. Ultimately, these are what are important in life.

I’m really looking forward to yet another semester with CollegeFashionista. CollegeFashionista has left me with nothing but #RAD memories and experiences that I will always carry with me and that have helped me grow and find both myself and my personal style (let’s just name it “Uptown Girl With an Edge”). Look for my articles once a month, I’ll try not to disappoint. I hope you guys will enjoy reading them as much as I’ll enjoy writing them for you.
