Hey there everybody! My name is Rachel Gutierrez, I attend Youngstown State University in the beautiful city of Youngstown, Ohio! I am a continuing sophomore with a major in social work, and in the fall I will be picking up a minor in journalism. I’m very excited I got the opportunity to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team!
I grew up in a small town outside of Youngstown called Mineral Ridge, Ohio. Although I spent most of my time there, I am grateful enough to have a family that owns a tour company so traveling to my second home, New York City, has basically kept me sane. I was supposed to be living in New York at this time as a full time model, but life hit me with the beautiful surprise of becoming a new mom!
I usually spend my time bible journaling, watching a ridiculous amount of cooking shows  or reading a good book. Reading and writing have always been a huge part of my life, I’ve always had a book in my hand. I have this weird obsession with reading every book twice. I like to re-read a book at different times in my life to get a new perspective on it. Another thing I really love is makeup. I worked at ULTA for almost two years of my life and it taught me so much about expressing yourself.
Although I do love fashion and makeup, I am your everyday T-shirt, running shorts, no makeup and a baseball cap kind of girl. When it comes that I get an opportunity to express my style, however, I go for a more boho or simple look with a fun hair and makeup look to pull it all together!
For this bio I’m wearing a simple look anyone could wear to multiple occasions! It’s a simple sundress from H&M, a pair of wedges and a sunhat to pull it all together! Also, the foundation I’m wearing is great for summer, it’s the Maybelline Fit! Me Matte + Poreless. It keeps you matte throughout the hot summer sun and has great coverage.
