Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Rachel Radecki and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I am a sophomore at the University of Missouri-Columbia, though we usually just call it Mizzou, and I am majoring in journalism with an emphasis on Strategic Communications-Public Relations with minors in business and spanish. The plan for after college is to go into either Advertising or Public Relations. But for now, I am super excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team and to get some experience with blogging!
I only recently developed a strong interest in fashion while working in retail at the J.Crew Factory store this past summer. I basically spent every shift there either shopping for myself or just taking in style inspiration from other customers and coworkers. I additionally get a lot of inspiration from blogs online and also from people on Instagram. Right now I am completely obsessed with Sarah Vickers’ fashion blog, in addition to really any of her other social media.
Over the past summer, I sort of became a shopaholic, and now I have an entirely new wardrobe! Some of my favorite brands are Polo Ralph Lauren, J.Crew,  Urban Outfitters, and Lilly Pulitzer. And since most of those brands are outside of my budget range, I actually do a lot of my shopping at Plato’s Closet, which is just a secondhand clothing store with a ton of great brands for cheaper prices, which is always a bonus.
My summer must-haves right now include a statement jewelry piece, some cute sandals and a pair of colorful shorts to brighten up the outfit. But, as summer comes to a close in the next few weeks here, I’ll have to start adjusting my wardrobe to those cold Midwest winters!
