Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Rachel Rosenstock and I am ecstatic to kick off my first stint as a Style Guru this summer!
I am an incoming sophomore, Journalism and French major, at Indiana University Bloomington, but I hail from the great state of Kansas, where I will be capturing my fabulous Fashionistas/os. I’m so excited to show off the amazing creativity and spirit of the people of Kansas City through fashion the next few months! Every Friday I hope to deliver something new and exciting that college students anywhere will love.
When I’m not hunting down the most on-point Kansas Citians this summer, you can find me selling cupcakes at my new summer gig, tanning poolside (you can call it avoiding sunburn) or tackling the “Game of Thrones” books. My all-time favorite hobby, shopping, is on a semi-hiatus while I try and save for study abroad in the south of France my junior year! I’m currently working on new breathing methods to control the urge to buy new lipstick and sandals.
I feel my sense of style and fashion inspiration is constantly changing and being influenced, whether it’s from the towering stacks of fashion magazines in my room, blogs I follow online or Instagram accounts I check daily. Some days I like to keep my outfit simple, monochrome and sleek; other days I pile on the bling and whip out my trusty gold sequin loafers. My fashion weaknesses are a classic Chelsea boot and comfy, slouchy cardigans. A personal goal I have this summer is to take more risks and wear pieces that have been hanging in my closet for a while, but have not been used much. I aim to avoid being predictable, and I hope to get inspiration and advice from other Style Gurus and Fashionistas/os to keep my outlook fresh! Not only do I love creating new looks and taking risks with my personal style, but I love helping my friends and family put together an ensemble they love.
My long-term goals include, but are not limited to, writing for a fashion magazine and living in Paris and collaborating one day with a favorite house. I know interning for CollegeFashionista is the first step of many to achieve these goals! I know the fashion world is competitive and ever-changing, so I hope my journey to being a well-rounded Fashionista can blossom from here. I can’t wait to learn and grow from this summer as a Style Guru, so stay tuned for more!
