Hey, cuties! My name is Rachel, and I’m so excited to be a CollegeFashionista Style Guru for the first time ever! I moved to New York City all the way from sunny South Florida to pursue a career in the fashion industry. I currently study fashion merchandising at LIM College, and I’m loving every second of it.
One of my all-time favorite quotes, from the one and only Diane Von Furstenberg, is: “I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I always knew the woman I wanted to be.” I love this quote because I’m not exactly sure what kind of job I see myself having in the future, but I do know two things. It will definitely be fashion related, and I will definitely be somebody that people look up to.
Ultimately, I will be my own boss one day. Ideally, I will be running my own vegan fashion empire. Vegan fashion (no leather, fur, etc.), is one of the main reasons I want to be in this industry. I strongly believe the fashion industry would be a more humane, clean and overall a better industry without the use of animals. This applies to beauty products, too. I only buy products that are cruelty-free, which means they aren’t tested on animals. Vegan and cruelty-free products are the future of the fashion industry, and it is so much easier than you think to start shopping humanely! If you need some vegan fashion inspiration, you’re in luck! When it comes to my personal style, there’s not really one way to describe it. My style changes on the daily, and I’m always excited to try out the latest and craziest trends. The ability to express yourself differently every day is honestly the best part about fashion.
Now, let’s get into some fun stuff. One fun fact about me is that I’m obsessed with Drake. I know the words to almost every Drake song, and I may or may not have a Drake tattoo on the back of my neck. My favorite go-to hairstyle is a big, messy bun, and my two must have accessories (that I won’t leave home without) are a pair of sunglasses and a lot of rings.
