Hello friends! Rachele here, from Boston, Massachusetts. I’m a freshman journalism major and (possible) pr minor at the University of Oregon. I am absolutely ecstatic to begin my journey with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru this semester! When I was a little girl I fell completely in love with fashion and craved to know the ins-and-outs of the industry. As an aspiring fashion journalist, my dream is to move to NYC and write for a major magazine such as Vogue or Ellle. Writing and fashion are two of my truest passions, so being lucky enough to find what I love, why not put them together to create the most amazing experience ever!
Over the years I’ve tried to synthesize my style into one simple, clean cut look, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just not possible. To be honest, you should never have to settle when it comes to looking and feeling like you’re most stylish self. Just like many other Fashionistas (you known who you are!), my style is ever-evolving with each new season and trend. I do find myself more attracted to delicate, care-free, yet classic and elegant pieces, highly inspired by European fashion and the widely adored “model-off-duty” look. The older and older I get, I begin to realize the importance of trying yourself to be confident and not being afraid to express yourself through clothing, whether that means looking your very best every day, or just wearing what you’re comfortable in.
In this look, I featured some of my favorite staple pieces, especially in the frigid winter months of Oregon and Massachusetts. You can find me wearing this out on a casual coffee date, or exploring downtown with friends! Distressed jeans and a black leather jacket are must haves in everyones closet no matter what style you’re going for, you can dress them up or down and you’ll stay warm. I prefer white to black, so balancing out the dark leather with all light pieces is a perfect match for me. I paired them with a simple white T-shirt and matching white monochrome converse; perfect walking shoes that never get old. I’m also all about adding dainty accessories to your outfits, and this season chokers are as popular as ever! Though this look is a little more edgy than I’m used to, it’s essential for every fashionista to mix it up a little from time to time!
