I’m excited to start my third semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. I was a little disappointed by the lack of sweater wearing I got to do this fall due to the strangely warm New York weather. But I’m sure I’ll get loads of winter fashion inspiration this spring semester as I study abroad in London.
I’ve wanted to go to London for years. My anglophilia started young with a Parent Trap obsession which progressed to my current Doctor Who addiction and One Direction mania. As excited as I am to study there and to immerse myself in the culture completely, I would be lying if I didn’t list fashion as one of the things I’m most excited for—the second would probably be the accents.
A big focus for my style this season is to wear more stylish, but casual outfits. I was spoiled this semester with an aerobics class three times a week in my schedule. This allowed me to opt out of picking a real outfit and wear cute workout clothes all day. Fun leggings, lululemon headbands and sorority T-shirts. However, they aren’t going to make the cut in London. I’ve been stocking up on loads of comfortable and stylish outfits for my European travels.
Currently, this is my favorite outfit. The dull green shirt with quarter length sleeves is the perfect shirt to layer for the unpredictable weather. Also, I have a new found love for cuffing my jeans, which I was always hesitant to do because of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. But these are my pants, so I get to make the rules.
Here, I accessorized the outfit with a necklace to add some detail. I usually go for daintier jewelry, but this chunky necklace works with the simple look. This outfit would also be great with a criss-cross bralette peaking out.
I can’t wait to get to London and explore all around Europe. Maybe the next time I wear this outfit, I’ll be posing with my new beau Harry (Styles or the prince, I’m not picky). I’m looking forward to scouting out all those Fashionistas and Fashionistos across the pond.
