Greetings my fellow Fashionistas! My name is Robyn Lilly, and this will be my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am a senior at Kent State University studying fashion design. I strongly believe that CollegeFashionista can open a lot of opportunities for me in the future and help me develop excellent communication skills among my peers. Ever since I was a little girl, it was always my dream to become a fashion designer. When I think about design, I view it as a way to express my personality by letting my audience know the real me. It gives everyone the chance to get to know who I really am and what kind of styles that interests me. I believe that CollegeFashionista can help me find my own voice so I can express my thoughts about the different fashion trends and understand myself more.
Last spring, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, for the 2016 spring semester. It became a life-changing experience for me because I got the chance to get to know my fellow classmates that went on the trip with me and learn more about the fashion industry. I also managed to develop a bond with my Florence instructors as well. It really opened my mind to so many ideas that I can do for my collection. This was my first time traveling outside of the United States, and I’d never been on a plane before, either.
My favorite hobbies are searching through Pinterest, Instagram, sewing, and sketching illustrations. I find that doing research gives me a lot of creative ideas for my style wardrobe and design ideas.
