Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Rose Day and this is my first semester as a Style Guru. I am a senior at the University of Hartford majoring in Computer Engineering. Outside of class I go to Dirty for a Reason, the ceramics club at the university, and Toastmasters.
Growing up my favorite magazines to read were Allure and Seventeen. Lately, I haven’t been reading too many fashion magazines, but instead, I follow people on Instagram and Pinterest! There places are great sources of style inspiration and offer a wonderful variety!
I would describe my personal style as simple and casual. I like to feel comfortable in what I am wearing while still looking good. The outfit I am wearing today includes one of my favorite items: leggings. For leggings, I prefer neutral colors that I can pair with different colored tops. Leggings are a great item to pair with longer shirts and sweaters all year round, especially with boots to avoid an excess of bulging fabric in the boot. With these particular leggings, I chose to wear sneakers since it is not cool enough for boots just yet.
Tank tops are good either layered or alone and since it is still warm out, I paired my leggings with a RAD tank top that pairs nicely with the gold accents. Gold is one of my favorite colors, especially for nail polish. The three gold accents I used include pineapple earrings, Alex and Ani bracelets and nails. The gold color I used on my nails is Glitz, by Orly.
When looking for a good accessory, go gold!
