Hey, fashion lovers! I’m Russia, a freshman at SUNY Plattsburgh majoring in public relations from the city that never sleeps NYC. I’m excited to be returning this spring semester as a Style Guru. This internship last semester allowed me to improve my personal style by getting inspiration from the great style I saw on campus. It also helped improve my writing skills because it allowed me to not only write for class but outside it as well. Along with being a student, I have my own lifestyle blog and YouTube channel where I create content several times a week about fashion, college, fitness, and even a sprinkle of travel.
I’ve been asked many times how I would describe my style. This question is hard for me to answer because I don’t think I gravitate towards one style I usually just gravitate towards high-quality clothes. However, this past semester I noticed that my style was leaning more towards the edgy but classic look. I don’t like having a classified style because fashion is my way of expression and it allows me to change up my look each day. I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest, which is how I usually pick my outfits daily.
For this look, I wanted to go for an outfit that I wear a lot during the fall and winter so that you all could see an example of one of my typical outfits. I paired this beautiful camel-colored turtleneck with solid black jeans and black heeled ankle boots. I love this color combination when you pair camel on an all-black outfit it just makes it pop even more. I then topped it with a sleek above the knee coat that has a little edge from the leather details on the sides.
As much as I love fashion, I’m a huge workout enthusiast, I believe it’s important to have a healthy lifestyle so that your body is able to perform at the best of its ability. Being that I love working out, I’m also always in athleisure clothing. If you’ve never heard of athleisure, it’s workout clothes like leggings and sports bras, but with a more modernized and chic look that are pretty enough to wear around town as regular clothes.
I’m so excited to continue writing articles monthly and share some outfits I see on campus with you all. Make sure to follow me on my social media to get updates on my new posts and let’s rock this spring semester!
