Oh hey! My name is Ryan Schneider and I am a junior at the University of Delaware majoring in Fashion Merchandising. Just to let you know a little about myself, I would say my style is shy, but also really loud like my personality. It might have to do with the fact that when I was younger, I used to have bangs that I could hide behind. Since then I have come a long way, and now prefer to rock bleached hair and a funky pair of socks.
While my mother tells me I have an old soul; literally in the fact that I love classical music, reading poetry and scrunchies. I enjoy incorporating a bit of a modern twist like this choker into my outfits. My favorite outfit go-to piece is always an oversized sweater. Normally my grandpa’s or dad’s along with my Converse. When I get dressed, I normally don’t look for pieces from just my own closet as I tend to borrow clothes from my parent’s and grandma’s closets, which all have amazing vintage pieces. Therefore, I will wear and pair their pieces with my clothes, like these denim shorts whenever I can.
My growth in confidence from the shy version of my younger self to someone who is more loud now helps me rock an outfit. My favorite thing about fashion is that it is not just clothes as some people may say. For me it has always been a way to connect with people and share stories.
I hope you enjoy my articles and the story that I am trying to share with you via a funky pair of socks, and maybe a scrunchie too.
