Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Sabrina Pimentel, and I’m a student at Florida International University. Although this is my final year at FIU, this is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I’m majoring in Broadcast Media and minoring in Social Media with a secret obsession for fashion! I’m super excited to extend my desire for fashion this summer as a Style Guru.
Living in Miami has exposed me to different personalities, unique cultures and super rad styles. I’m lucky enough to go to school alongside the beach with the best view. I love that every morning I have the ability to be someone new just by the clothes I decide to wear. I’ve always had an interest in the fashion industry, and it all started in middle school. I went to a school where it was mandatory to wear polo shirts as uniform. Not even a school uniform could restrict me from expressing my individuality. Luckily, there were no restrictions against jewelry!
Once I finish college I anticipate working in the entertainment industry. Whether it’s starting my own video blog, reporting for E! News or interviewing top designers during Fashion Week, I know I’ll be working around some glamorous people.
After discovering the first chapter in my style book, I started to appreciate how nature, culture and seasons affected fashion trends. There wasn’t a month that went by that I didn’t grab the latest Teen Vogue magazine to stay up-to-date. This summer, my favorite pieces are pompom shorts and simple arm candy. Don’t leave the house without a versatile handbag! A handbag is an essential that can go from casual to fabulous this summer. Fast forwarding to college, I’ve done numerous internships blogging for local boutiques and jewelers. I’m thrilled to meet rad Fashionistas and get inspired by their style this season. Stay connected with me to follow Miami’s diverse style.
