Hey everyone! Iโm back and ready for another semester as a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista and I could not be more excited. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Samantha and I am a second year student at the University of Delaware where I am studying fashion merchandising and minoring in entrepreneurial studies.
Growing up, I would be lying if I said I was always into fashion and on top of all the latest and greatest styles and trends. I, like many, went through the extremely embarrassing and humbling โawkward pre-teenโ stage that consisted of far too many side ponytails, neon polo shirts and denim micro mini-skirts. It wasnโt until my mom got me a subscription for a teen magazine (I want to say it was J-14 or Tiger Beatโฆ I know, major throwback, right?) when I began getting into clothing and fashion. Since then, I have graduated from the teen magazines and am on to bigger and better things like Cosmopolitan and Vogue. I draw endless amounts of fashion and beauty inspiration from some of my favorite celebs and designers such as Vanessa Hudgens, Gigi Hadid, Olivier Rousteing and the Kardashian/Jenner sisters (whether I want to admit it or not).
My style is sometimes all over the place, but the common denominator of it all is the element of comfort. Whether Iโm going for a rustic, boho vibe or an edgy-grunge look, Iโm always sure to be comfortable in whatever Iโm wearing. I also canโt leave the house without an ungodly amount of accessories; i.e. rings, necklaces, bracelets, you name it. I guess thatโs what happens when you have your own jewelry line with your sister (check it out here). In the outfit pictured above, Iโm rocking my absolute favorite vintage band T-shirt, black skinny jeans, black Chelsea booties and a faux-fur coat. And, of course, Iโm overloading on accessories with a statement necklace, a double buckle Western belt, a felt hat and tons of fun rings.
I am so looking forward to another semester of fun and cannot wait to see what new trends emerge this spring!
