Hello my fellow Fashionistas! My name is Samantha Favela, and I am currently attending the University of Texas at Austin where I am pursuing a major in Journalism. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I could not be more excited!
Fashion has always been an important influence in my life. From the time I flipped through the pages of my first fashion magazine, I was hooked. I love that fashion is an art form, a way to wear what you feel. The fact that it is so unique and can be expressed in so many ways is the reason why it will never grow old. More importantly, fashion makes me feel confident. I know I have a great outfit on when I walk out the door and feel like I can conquer the world.
My personal style differs from day-to-day, but I always love to get back to the basics. I find myself more often then not with a classic minimalist outfit, but that does not mean I will not try out the occasional trend or throw in a pop of color. I recently cannot get enough of platform sneakers. They make any outfit more interesting especially if they have a bright colorful design. Here I have them paired with a summery shirt dress and my stackable bracelets including my favorite Alex and Ani bangle.
I am eager to show you a glimpse into the effortless, interesting and one-of-a kind style of Austin. I look forward to a RAD semester with you all!
