Sweet, sweet summertime! I am so excited for my third round as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. This summer is jam packed with awesome new experiences, places, people and things. Going along with these are a whole new variety of aesthetics and fashionable moments to be captured!
My June is going to be spent unleashing my inner Taylor Swift. Just kidding. I have, however, decided to take my love of singing and performing one step further and have begun to take guitar lessons. I am looking forward to delving into the style and vibes of the Louisville, Kentucky music scene and sharing my findings here with all of you! Starting in July, I will begin interning at an advertising agency and exploring all that creative life and downtown Louisville have to offer. Throughout the next few months, I also plan on visiting friends in their various internship locations. From Chicago to Houston, San Francisco to New York City and Knoxville to Minnetonka, there is no coast my adventures won’t cover!
Of course, this change in season, pace and lifestyle will come with a change in my forever evolving personal style. This summer, I am looking forward to mixing up my look and experimenting a bit! As you can see from my pictures, I’m all about the casual hat for summertime. I love this hat in particular because it can be worn dressed up or dressed down, and is the perfect accessory for almost any outfit. It’s also my saving grace on bad hair days and rainy days alike. #Blessed.
As the weather gets warmer, my interest in finding ways to wear as little clothing as possible while still being considered stylish and suitably dressed for the public eye increases immensely! For this reason, I am huge fan of rompers because of their airiness and ability to accomplish all of the above. If it’s possible to have a crush on an article of clothing, I believe this English Factory romper is my soulmate. Not only is the color beautiful and one of the Pantone colors of the year, but I adore the preppy touch from the scalloped trimming on the top as well as the subtle sexiness and breathability added from the side cutouts. I unfortunately wasn’t able to find a link to this romper online, but here is a similar one by the same brand.
To balance out the bright color, I accessorized this fun, little piece with color-blocked Cole Haan sandals, a white Marc Jacobs bag and a variety of bracelets. Pro tip: the pearls are actually a necklace looped around to create the illusion of bracelets!
This summer is surely going to be unforgettable and I hope you enjoy seeing my hometown’s inhabitants “á la mode” through my lens!
In the words of Jenny Han, “Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.”
