Why hello there to all my beautiful, new friends here in the CollegeFashionista community! My name is Sarah Behne, and I am absolutely ecstatic to begin my journey as a first time Style Guru. I am going into my senior year of college at the University of Kentucky where I am majoring in merchandising, apparel and textiles. One day I hope to fulfill my dreams and possibly open up my very own boutique, maybe become a visual merchandiser or even a buyer for a massive retail chain. The future brings so much curiosity, yet I just can’t wait to see where I am a year from now. As for now, I will enjoy being a Style Guru.
At a very young age, I found my true passion in life…making my own garments out of wrapping paper. And yes, I am a ’90s baby, so you very well know this wrapping paper was anything but cute and subtle. When I decided to attend college and choose my education path, I thought back to this exact scenario, and it pointed me toward fashion. Here I am, going into my senior year of college studying exactly what my four-year-old self would have wanted me to study. For that, I am truly grateful I could find something I love so much, stick to it and just grow with.
To say my fashion sense hasn’t changed since the wrapping paper designs is an entirely false statement. Fashion and style are an art form that changes and evolves throughout the years. Time and time again, I have always been told that a Fashionista needs to stick to a singular “look.” I am here to tell you that this is in fact a myth. It sounds a little cliché, but my own personal style changes on a day-to-day basis depending on how I am feeling. Sticking to one specific style limits ourselves from branching out and trying new trends!
As for now, I will leave you with a very classic Sarah look. This is something you would probably see me wearing on campus or even catching a movie in. I like to keep my outfit choices casual, comfortable and cute. For this specific outfit, I chose a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a black loose fitting blouse. Since the outfit felt so dark, I decided to pair these burgundy sandals to add a pop of color. My favorite aspect of not only this outfit, but any outfit, are the accessories. I decided this look needed some layered gold jewelry, a watch and a wool fedora.
Alright, that is enough blabbering for the day. Until next time Fashionistas, stay RAD!
