Hello lovelies! Sarah Beth Johnson here, also known as SBJ. It’s my first semester as a Style Guru. I was raised in a small, Kentucky town called Hartford. You know everyone and everyone knows you. I’m a Merchandising senior at the University of Kentucky. I’m also a sister of Kappa Delta Sorority. AOT! From tailgates to basketball games to philanthropy events, college has been good to me.
I’m currently the assistant manager for The Peppermint Palm, which is a Lilly Pulitzer signature store. If I said I knew exactly what I wanted to do in my life, I’d be lying. What I do know is I want to be happy. Working in retail/merchandising has made me incredibly joyful and I’m always eager to learn. I’ve always been very interested in becoming a district manager, doing something with visuals or styling. Eventually, I’d like to work with men’s clothing. There is nothing better than a man in a well—tailored suit. I grew up loving Tommy Hilfiger and watched every show he did. He is what inspired my love for fashion.
My style is not a set thing (like my music taste). Vintage, sporty, preppy and casual are just a few of my looks. Fashion is supposed to be fun, not dictating. The best accessory you can have is lipstick. A good lipstick can help you conquer the world. You also need an anorak, cute sunnies and Converse to help you get through the day. Rap music and coffee will do just about the same thing.
