Hey Fashionistas! My name is Sarah Cotton and this is my second time writing as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am an incoming junior majoring in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Albright College. Albright may be a small school, however, it is filled with creative and fashionable people who inspire me every day. I am so excited that I get the chance to write for CollegeFashionista again! So, keep checking in with me this summer for some great tips and trends.
Being a fashion major and writing for CollegeFashionista, I’ve been able to learn so much about other people’s styles, as well as my own. My style has definitely changed over time. Growing up, I was always buying the latest trends to add to my wardrobe, but as I got older I realized the fun part about buying the latest trends was how I was going to make them my own. I guess that’s where my love of fashion came from, incorporating my own style into the current style trends at the time. How I would describe my style is fun, feminine, comfortable and a little retro. It’s rare to see me in pants especially in the summer. I love to wear skirts and dresses because to me they’re so much more comfortable. My clothing definitely has some ‘70s-inspired qualities to it, I just love the fun style of the ‘70s. What can I say I’m a flower child at heart!
Lately I have been obsessed with stripes for the summer like this stripped T-shirt from Forever 21. It’s really simple and comfortable you can pretty much wear it with anything. I have it paired with my favorite denim skirt from PacSun. I love this skirt because it’s cute, comfortable and it has that retro style that I like. Lastly, I love to accessories my outfits. So with this outfit, I paired it with black sandals from Target, a Roxy cross-body purse and sunglasses from PacSun. This outfit is perfect for the summer and so easy to mix and match with so many things already in your closet!
